> Since I needed a journal link more then a date I actually modified the lua code a bit so I always get a journal link right now. But it’s hackish

why don’t you use for that the [Floating Journal Calendar](https://community.silverbullet.md/t/sleek-interactive-floating-journal-calendar/3680). it can easily turn it into drag&drop “Journal WikiLink Dropper”…currently if you click the date, it opens the desired Journal Path & with a little magic it the drag&drop secion could be easily added - 90% of the job is already there.

# [UPDATE] - [Floating Journal Calendar](https://community.silverbullet.md/t/sleek-interactive-floating-journal-calendar/3680/10)

- added drag & drop
- added #monthname# as option for path pattern now you can use monthname in the path or any other combination:
example: `[[Journal/2026/01-January/2026-01-01_Thu]]`
