Just to clarify, my thinking was just to improve the current git functionality by adding some UI/UX around it. Like a command that pops up a filter box with previous revisions of a file and lets you swap between them.
Adding a full-blown versioning system doesn’t seem worth it to me if we already have git that can do it for mostly free.
I can create a GH issue for the git plug though, I don’t think anything would need to be done in the SB core to support it.
