Disassociation between note title and filename

Hi!

I recently came across Silverbullet and found many of its ideas align with my note-taking system. However, I’m wondering if it’s possible to use a different format for the filename compared to the note title.

For example, if I have an index note titled “index”, I’d like to save it as 2024041710140_index.md, but still display “index” as the title in the GUI and frontmatter.

I haven’t been able to figure out if this is possible. Can you help? Thanks in advance!

No, this is not possible right now. There’s this idea of Page Style Templates that may support something along those lines, but that hasn’t been implemented so far.

I see. That’s a bummer. Ideally I would like to have my file as creationdate_slug-with-note-title.md (this could be done with a note title prompt, or after note is saved)

If I would change this in the code do you have any direction where I can tweak that? I appreciate your work and I will try to see if I can adapt to my notes.

Thanks

This would be quite a fundamental change. There’s no single place to “tweak” it.

Ok, I understand. Thanks

I think improving this would also help improve this other:
