Managing Bookmark & Reading Lists

I am curious if anyone is managing their bookmarks or reading list with SB. Interested in improving my current setup.

My current system is fairly simple, for all kind of links: reading list, references, overviews, etc pp.

- [Example Page](https://example.com/) #bm

It is a simple SB (list) item, markdown URL syntax and the tag #bm. That is the bare minimum.

There are more tags like #archive that adds to this link to my ArchiveBox archive or #read to add it to my reading list - in addition to the topic tags like #ansible, #ssh, etc.

This allows me to have one SB page with a huge list of links and bookmarks all over different pages while finding everything with simple queries.

I am fairly happy with it, but some ideas or problems I have:

  • that it is getting a little bit overwhelming (as in messy)
  • difficult to find certain links again
  • reference bookmarks / adding context (or notes) to a link
  • tracking the status as in ‘already read’ etc (currently with a #checked tag

Open for suggestions and happy to learn more about your systems.

Cheers

  • You can have anything you need to track by status, noted down as a task. Tasks can have more than two statuses. For example “todo”, “doing”, “done”.
  • You can note down everything in one long page and tag them, then dedicate pages to tags you care about where queries turn up all items tagged so.
  • Or you can dedicate separate pages from the beggining to things like “read”, “archive” e.t.c. and note each thing in its own page.
