Tags not copied in templates

I think I either have an issue or I’m missing something.

I have this template taken from the documentation:

key: "Ctrl-q j"

tags: meta/template/page

But when I create a new Journal from template, the #journal tag does not appear, instead I’m directly editing the first bullet without the tag on top of it:

Any idea of what am I doing wrong or is there some kind of issue ?

Works for me, I copied your template and the page appears with the #journal tag on top. Do you have some conflicting template for Journal on your system?

Not that I am aware of. Which version of Silverbullet are you running ?

Latest release (not edge).

I don't think this kind of behaviour was updated recently.

Alternatively, you could try to add the tag via Frontmatter to the page, by adding the following to your template:

frontmatter: |
  tags: "#journal"

Put it between openIfExists: true and ---

Yes, this works but I really wanted to have the tag inside the page as it is easier to use on mobile: the tag is clickable.

Probably, sadly for now this is the only idea I have as to why this would work for you but not for me. I just tried by creating another template with a completely different name and still see the same behavior.

For instance, this works:

The fact that tags in frontmatter are not clickable is a gripe I share. This would be a great feature to be added.

I've tried your template it again, works just fine with me. Have you reloaded the entirely page? Or maybe even clear your browser storage to do a full re-index? (Try reloading first).

This was a bug fixed in 2.6

I guess I will just have to wait for it to land in Nixpkgs, thanks !
