So the CONFIG, copied default asks for creation of a new page, (just looking into the top bar), and it can accept an icon associated with a tag similar to #person, but the icon never shows in the list of recently edited pages after adding 
as the icon for #funding.

I could very well be wrong, but I think they're saying they added the as a pageDecoration for #funding akin to the 
in the tag.define for "person" in the sample CONFIG file.
I'd guess they either need to Space:Reindex as mentioned in the note on the tag doc, or they somehow messed up the configuration for their funding tag?
Try reindex nope, didn't do it. A restart of the server works. The icon appears left of the page title on the page. Not just for #funding, but all tags with CONFIG entries. There appears to be no way I can get it to appear left of the page name in the index page list without a server restart. I did try other icons to see if it was icon specific ...
EDIT: It might be chrome specific, as a page reload seems to work, but as I've made the "site" into a PWA frame, I have to right click reload, and so maybe the JS could do with a reload in when some indexing, or something is finished.
